Chicago has done it again! As the city continues to add to its restaurant repertoire of why we are one of thee best cities to eat – Provaré steps up to the plate! Newly opened on Sqeptember 10th, this black-owned restaurant is the perfect addition to the West Town neighborhood.

The cuisine is a fusion of two very flavorful cuisines – Creole & Italian. Therein is a wonderful merging of seasonings and spices that leaves you full, wishing you had more room. Though the menu is small, it packs a big punch.

Here is what I tried:

Spinach Artichoke dip: This was heavenly. I’m a huge fan of spinach artichoke dip, but Provaré added a spin to this – SHRIMP AND CRAWFISH! Yes, there is shrimp and crawfish in the dip. The breadsticks that come with it are PERFECT for dipping and this appetizer makes you feel like it should be a dish on its own.

Salmon Egg rolls: I know that putting all kinds of goodies into egg rolls is a new trend, but I would’ve never would’ve thought of putting salmon into one – Provaré did! The salmon combination mixed with micro greens comes on a chipotle aioli sauce that compliments it perfectly.

Pasta trio: One word for this – WOW! First, you must know that all of their pasta is made in house! With this particular dish, it is full of LOBSTER, SHRIMP, and CRAB on yet another delicious sauce! I couldn’t help but to grab the breadsticks from my appetizer and dip them in this dish! The dish also had just the right amount of heat that even someone sensitive to spice can manage.

Drinks:

The best thing about their drinks is that they’re all named after Chicago streets! I had 3: The Chicago Ave, The Madison & Pulaski, and The MLK.

The MLK was the closest to my favorite drink that I normally go to – An Old Fashioned. The Hennessy and peach combination was on point.

For those who would prefer something lighter, The Madison & Pulaski is a refreshing mix of tequila, ginger beer, like, and strawberry. Be sure to get a bigger straw because the strawberry pieces will clog up the normal tiny drink straw.

The Chicago Ave was hands down my favorite! It made me feel as if I’m supposed to be on an island, sipping my drink in the sand! It’s combination of Malibu, Meyer, and Captain Morgan will undoubtedly make you feel the same!

Provaré will definitely give you that savory, filling meal that you have been looking for. Reservations are taken online at their website (listed in this article) and walk-ins are also welcome, based upon availability.

Note: Depending on the time of day, parking can be tough and it will be metered (but it’s very cheap). If you’d prefer a less busy time, visit Tuesday through Thursday or Friday earlier in the day!

Go check them out and enjoy!
